Right to freely choose an expert
In the event of an accident that was not your fault, you have the right to hire an independent vehicle appraiser of your choice. This right is enshrined in law, and the costs are usually covered by the other party's insurance company.
An independent expert report that I will prepare for you ensures that:
the damage is fully recorded
all relevant positions are taken into account
the replacement value or residual value is correctly determined
a possible decrease in value is determined
Right to free choice of repair shop
As the injured party, you decide where your vehicle is repaired.
You are not obliged to accept an offer or a partner workshop of the insurance company.
This freedom of choice is designed to ensure that you receive a repair that meets your requirements.
Claim for full compensation
If you are liable for damages through no fault of your own, you are entitled to reimbursement of all accident-related costs, including but not limited to:
Repair costs
Expert fees
Towing costs
Rental car or compensation for loss of use
mercantile depreciation
Any legal fees that may be required
Which specific items are reimbursable depends on the individual case. An expert report that I will prepare for you will provide a reliable basis for this.
Rental car or loss of use – your decision
During repairs or in the event of a total loss, you can choose between:
rental car
Compensation for loss of use (flat daily rate according to vehicle class)
The exact amount can be reliably determined based on the expert report I will prepare for you and recognized table values.
Entitlement to legal support
In the event of an accident that was not your fault, you generally have the right to consult a lawyer specializing in traffic law. The opposing insurance company usually covers the costs.
